Introducing the Cloudberry
One of our favourite botanicals used in Rule Gin is the beautiful Cloudberry.
Not only is it the county flower of Peebleshire, which is our home, but it also contains 4 times more vitamin C than an orange.
The plant itself develops large white flowers and knotted berries the colour of marmalade. These plants are generally hard to locate, but can be found growing in certain secret Scandinavian spots!
Fresh cloudberries are soft, juicy, and tart. Their taste is best described as a mix between blackberries, raspberries and red currants, with a hint of floral sweetness.
This is a very special berry and gives our gin it’s unique taste.
